Sublimation uses heat to make the ink practically part of the article. This makes the print resistant to usage and environment.

Polyester, glass, ceramics, plastic, etc. You can print by sublimation on a wide variety of materials.

What's behind the sublimation printing process? How does it work?

Sublimation is one of the simplest printing techniques we at Camaloon use to create your personalised items. The ink we use is heat sensitive and goes directly from a solid state to a gaseous state, without going through the liquid state. So what steps does the process consist of?

  1. To print by sublimation, you must first select the design. You can compose it with as many colours as you want, since sublimation printing, unlike, for example, screen printing, allows full-colour printing.

Your design will be printed on a matte inkjet paper or thermal paper with a special sublimation ink printer.

  1. We will then press on the item so that the ink and colours are transferred from the paper to the object. Because of the pressure and heat when pressing, the ink will be transferred to the article, which will show your design in full colour, with a lasting impression of your creation.

When and on what materials can sublimation printing be used?

In order to personalise your items with sublimation printing, your order must meet the following requirements:

  • Add a white background to your design. Your design can be printed in as many colours as possible, but if you want to print personalised mugs and it is completely filled with colour, it is best to add a colour background (in this case white) so that this colour is also transferred to the mugs when printing by sublimation.
  • These must be solid materials, as the design is applied to the object with heat. If, for example, you want to print personalised magnets and you design them individually, you undoubtedly should be interested in printing them by sublimation. So you can create magnets with all the designs you need and in bright colours
  • Polyester fabrics can also be printed by sublimation. Something very practical if, for example, you want to print personalised bags to promote your company, store or event.
